Abstract
To what extent does Sophocles’ interpretation of Oedipus at Colonus influence Friedrich Hölderlin’s idea of the tragic? The paper tries to answer this question by suggesting how the figure of Oedipus arrives filtered through Hölderlin in Alexander Eisenach’s play.
