Visioni del Tragico has been classified by ANVUR as a scientific journal for Area 10 and as a Class A scientific journal for sector 10/F4 (Literary Criticism and Comparative Literature).

"Visioni del tragico" deals with the forms of performance, reperformance, reenactment of Greek tragedies in the 21st century, focusing on all aspects of history, theory and theatrical and performative practice linked to the Greek tragic tradition, starting from translation. The Journal is interested in the multiplicity of performing arts, the variety of their modes (theatre, performing art, installation art), the plurality of performance spaces, the relationship between dramaturgy, aesthetics, politics and society. Finally, it questions the Greek tragedy as a symbolic narration of macroscopic tragic phenomena of the contemporary world.

The magazine includes four sections:

• Essays: from individual case studies to more general theoretical contributions.
• Theatrical Spaces: spaces of the theatrical representation, from ancient to contemporary theatres to non-theatrical spaces but re-functionalized for theatrical and performative purposes, investigated in architectural semantics and in the dynamic interaction between space and gestures, voices, words, sounds, scenographies; urban and naturalistic spaces; immaterial spaces (for example, olfactory).
• Critical sheets: performances and books reviews.
• Protagonists: the words ot theatre practicioners, such as directors, actors, set designers, playwrights, musicians.

The papers in the Essays and Theatrical Spaces sections are subject to a double-blind peer review process. All contributions are examined, before publication, by the editorial-scientific committee.

The Journal is accompanied by a blog, specifically dedicated to 'Visions of tragic' on the contemporary Italian scene.

Publication Frequency

"Visioni del tragico" is an annual journal, published in one issue in September of each year.

APC and submission charges

"Visioni del tragico" does not ask for articles processing (APC) or submissions charges.

Archiving

"Visioni del tragico" utilizes the LOCKSS system to create a distributed archiving system among participating libraries and permits those libraries to create permanent archives of the journal for purposes of preservation and restoration.
